Train to Gain

Train To Gain is a Government funded programme which could, depending on eligibility, provide training for your employees at reduced or no cost.

For Security Companies, you will know that, having gained Approved Contractor Status (ACS) with the Security Industry Authority (SIA), you have a duty to provide continuity training for your employees. Whether you are doing will be one of the things that is checked during the re-accreditation process that you have to go through each year. We can help you with this.

The basis of training through the Train to Gain scheme is through NVQs. These qualifications demonstrate to your clients that your staff have not just taken theory training but have actually demonstrated that they have the competence to do their job. This will help you to gain and retain contracts.

If your employees meet the eligibility criteria, they can gain a Level 2 NVQ at no cost to you. In addition, up to 20 hours of related training can be provided at no cost. At Level 2 we can help your staff to gain NVQ qualifications in:

• Providing Security Services
• Spectator Safety (required by all stewards working at football grounds by 2010)
• Team Leading (for your supervisors)
• Customer Service 

An additional 15 hours of training can cover almost any subject you desire, as long as it is relevant to the main qualification. We will discuss what you would like to do and advise you on that.

Train to Gain is not just for the security industry.  Any eligible employer can take advantage of this funding to gain nationally recognised qualifications in a large variety of subjects.  Please contact us if you would like to know more.

Qualifications can also be gained at Level 3 through this scheme but the employer is expected to make a contribution towards this.
